For the uninitiated, it depicts the interior of the anterior lower leg. It will be a tattoo for one of my favorite people (not to mention, one of my favorite students... shhhh, don't tell her).

Fur...

Now for something completely different. Until now I thought Moulin Rouge! was Kidman's strangest movie, until "Fur..."

Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus

In 1958, in New York City, the upper class Diane Arbus is a frustrated and lonely woman with a conventional marriage with two daughters. Her husband is a photographer sponsored by the wealthy parents of Diane, and she works as his assistant. When Lionel Sweeney, a mysterious man with hypertrichosis (a.k.a. werewolf syndrome, a disease that causes excessive body hair), comes to live in the apartment in the upper floor, Diane feels a great attraction for him and is introduced to the world of freaks and marginalized people, falling in love with Lionel. Written by Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

The critics weigh in on both sides regarding this movie. Many on the down side, siting the "Imaginary" aspect. No matter, I liked it quite a bit... owing, I think, to the fact that some of the characters remind me of persons in my own life. Actually, in many ways I see myself in Kidman's character. Lionel (played by Robert Downey, Jr.) reminds me of someone very important in my life. None of this is because of physical comparisons. It's much more subtle than that and I won't elaborate on that other person's personality or that of the character Lionel.
I'd rather you watched it yourself. And please, come back and tell me what you thought.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been busy, busy, busy!
But I'm feeling much better than that last post.
School (Massage Therapy) began on Sept. 6th. Three nights a week until the end of February, then Anatomy will be over and it will be 2 nights a week. I had my first test in Massage Theory class on Monday. I got a 96! Well, at first I got a 100... but when we went over it I found where the teacher had missed one incorrect answer. She thanked me for my honesty. Damnit! I wanted that 100! My first Anatomy test is next Wednesday..... eeeek!
I'm surprised at how much I actually remember from high school Health and Biology classes. But I have a feeling it's going to get more challenging!
All in all, I'm enjoying classes very much so far.

On top of 3 classes/week for Massage Therapy, I've been involved in RAD Classes on Tuesdays.
RAD stands for Rape, Aggression, Defense. If you've never heard of RAD, please check out their website.

I was in Williamsburg yesterday with T. As we drove through town, we rode by a motel that I'd stayed at years ago.
Just in passing, I said "I've stayed there... their pool is shaped like a condom" She just stared at me. Well, as much as she could and still see where she was driving. "No kidding... it's shaped just like a condom. Like this..."

This is my buddy FWED. When he's in his jogging get-up, I call him "Big Bird." It's for "Visibility" he says.
He loves jogging and you won't catch him eating any fat if he can help it. But he loves his candy, bubble gum, diet pepsi and 12 or so cups of coffee a day.
Go figure.
