Bits and ether and lite... oh my...

I'm thinking it's time to jump on the cryptocurrency train.  Who's with me?
I've been spending my time lately reading up and watching videos on the subject and I'm intrigued. 
I know, I know, I'm a little late but I don't think I've missed the boat.  At least I hope not.  NOT  because I want to 'get rich'.  As a libertarian, I think this is the way to eventually get the gov't out of our finances. 
I'm really impressed with some of the crypto gurus such as Roger Ver.

As I move along on this voyage, I'll be updating here.  I've downloaded CoinBase but I'm wondering now if I should go with a real wallet such as Blockchain Wallet or Bitcoin Wallet.  Any opinions?  What are the advantages (if any) of a Crypto "Bank" such as Coinbase over a wallet? 

What are your opinions on Bitconnect?  Is it a scam or a legitimate investment opportunity?
