i feel this one too...

CONSTANT CRAVING
Even through the darkest phase
Be it thick or thin
Always someone marches brave
Here beneath my skin

Constant craving

Has always been

Maybe a great magnet pulls
All souls towards truth
Or maybe it is life itself
That feeds wisdom
To it’s youth

Constant craving
Has always been

Ah ha
Constant craving
Has always been
Constant craving
Has always been
Constant craving
Has always been

Craving

I'm a Geek too...

Another quiz? I guess that's what you do at work when you're "bored stupid". This quiz is at
Spacefem.com and I found it at Lady Calliah's Other Blog.

It says:

"That's right! You and 5583 other people (out of the 47743 people who've taken this quiz) are sixties geeks. "
okay... if you say so.

I'm A 1960s Geek
You're pretty quirky and weird but we know you're smart and love you anyway!
find your geek decade at spacefem.com

So, anyone out there know of any other weird-assed quizzes??? I'm still bored! And I've got the munchies... What's up with that??? Guess it's still those damned hormones.

I've been Tagged...

I've been called on for the latest Blog questionaire thingy... it's Book Tag. 5 questions relating to books and reading ... huh, wonder why I was tagged (wink). Most of these can be answered just by reading my blog... but here goes:
  1. Total number of books I've owned: Well, like Kasey said... books are friends. And I am unwilling to part with friends (and books it seems). I have almost every one I've ever purchased. So that's 1000s I'm sure. And they are scattered throughout my life... bookshelves, attic, office, truck... everywhere (just ask hubby... no, don't).
  2. What is the last book I bought? The last (2) were bought on Barnesandnoble.com, they were The Body Farm and From Potter's Field both by Patricia Cornwell
  3. Last book I read? I'm reading Cruel And Unusual (also P. Cornwell) now... I've been so busy... seems like I've been reading this one forever. Before that was All That Remains and before that was Deception Point by Dan Brown. Kasey, I love the Harry Potter books so I guess I'm a geek too!
  4. 5 books that mean something to me. They ALL mean something to me. I almost always enjoy what I read. Especially close to my heart is Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood and Little Altars Everywhere by Rebecca Wells. I liked Cornwell's Portrait of a Killer: Jack The Ripper a lot. Also, Brown's DaVinci Code was good, but I think I liked Angels and Demons better.
  5. Tag 5 people and request they fill this out on their journals. Like Kasey said, I don't know who has or hasn't been tagged. I'll try these and hope they are not too terribly busy to answer a few questions:

Toby, Zube Girl, Tara, Angelbrat, and Blog Ho

(OH, I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HO'S ANSWERS!!)

I was gonna tag Lady Calliah... but Kasey beat me ... uh... she beat me to it I mean.

YES! My hit counter has broken 1000!
Thank you all who've visited and who will visit.

And I need to give a special thanks to:
Lady Calliah, Zube Girl, TaraTainton, Kasey at I'll Beg, and of course Toby at A Gypsy's Kiss (the one who started it all).

i'll beg.... oooh, love that title

WOW, I got a mention on another blog!
At I'll Beg ... Kasey, you made my day (and gave me a ton of hits in one day). I hadn't even checked here when Lady Calliah told me I had a mention... woooohoooo! Here's the post. I haiku'd Kasey right back in the comments section ... here it is:

your right is busy

...every chance I get.

Here's a Mary Chapin Carpenter song I was thinking about trying tonight at Karaoke. Its words speak to me. Its a philosophy I embrace whole heartedly!

I Take My Chances
(Mary-Chapin Carpenter/Don Schlitz)
I took a walk in the rain one day on the wrong side of the tracks
I stood on the rails till I saw that train
Just to see how my heart would react
Now some people say that you shouldn't tempt fate
And for them I could not disagree
But I never learned nothing from playing it safe
I say fate should not tempt me
I take my chances, I don't mind working without a net
I take my chances, I take my chances every chance I get
I sat alone in the dark one night, tuning in by remote
I found a preacher who spoke of the light but there was brimstone in his throat
He'd show me the way according to him in return for my personal check
I flipped my channel back to CNN and I lit another cigarette
I take my chances, yes forgiveness doesn't come with a debt
I take my chances, I take my chances every chance I get
I've crossed lines of words and wire and both have cut me deep
I've been frozen out and I've been on fire and the tears are mine to weep
But I can cry until I laugh and laugh until I cry
So cut the deck right in half, I'll play from either side
I take my chances, I pay my dollar and I place my bet
I take my chances, I take my chances every chance I get
I take my chances, I don't cling to remorse or regret
I take my chances, I take my chances every chance I get
I take my chances
I take my chances

dejection: (di-'jek-sh&n) noun: lowness of spirits

What a foul mood I'm in today! I have no idea why... hormones maybe, DAMN them anyway.
Do you know what really bites? That everyone I care about is too wrapped up in their own lives to even NOTICE I'm in a shitty mood! And god forbid they should try to make me feel better.....

Well, you'd think that little whining spree would make me feel better.... NOPE! Not a bit!

Tara's Interview Questions...

Well... it seems that the bloggin' thing to do lately is interview and BE interviewed.
So, Tara (www.taratainton.com) has interviewed me. Thanks for the questions, Tara. Now who the heck am I gonna interview? Anyone out there just dying to bare their souls to the blogosphere?:

Tara: You're a biker babe and a motorcycle safety instructor. So, tell us about your ride! And please show us a picture. Now, what would your ideal bike be?

Peg: Okay, I ride a 1994 Harley 1200 Sportster. It's black, almost ALL black... after my accident, I powder-coated most of the chrome black. I've got lots of miles on my Lil Sporty and they're all mine. We've been to Dallas, TX and back twice (oh my butt!).

I don't seem to have any good pics of my bike. Guess I'll have to take a few.

An IDEAL ride? Well, I DO have one in mind. I just don't have the bucks for it right now and I'd hate to part with the sporty. At the risk of offending the hardcore, "REAL Harley riders" out there... the one bike I'd love to have right now is the V-Rod. I've demo'd several of them and it's a SWEET RIDE! And FAST!

Tara: Now, you used to have very long hair until recently. Did you ever do anything naughty with that long hair? If not, make up an idea for the rest of us to try.

Peg: The only thing that was ever done with my hair would have to be my braids used as handles… heh heh

Tara: You describe yourself as having an obsessive personality. What was the last project, idea, or agenda you became consumed with?

Peg: You’re looking at it. This blogging thing has over run my existence. I can’t wait each day to see what new blogs are out there, how many hits I’ve gotten overnight, if I’ve gotten any new comments!

Also, singing… I started taking singing lessons last year and I started karaoke-ing this year. I can’t stop singing… I do it every chance I get. I’m wondering if my friends are totally sick of it yet. If they are, then they’re protecting my feelings and coming along with me anyway. What great Buds I have!

Tara: Being a biker chick, I'm guessing your significant other is or would be one heck of a bad boy in all those ways we girls love. Tell us a bit about what attracted you to him or what kind of man would be worthy of your affection.

Peg: We both started biking later in life… so we’re not exactly Bad (not in that way anyway). I’d have to say, his sense of humor is what attracted me to him.

Tara: What do you do in your mind or at the start of your day to remain in such a great and positive mood? What do you look forward to waking each day for?

Peg: I can’t say I’m always in a positive mood. And I imagine my co-workers would say it’s rare (haha)… but that’s only towards them (not the sharpest tools in the drawer sometimes)… you get tired of feeling like you’re the only competent person in the office at times (she blushes with false modesty). Inside my own head… I’m almost always happy. I know it’s trite… but I think everyday is a gift. And as I approach middle age (“approach” catches in her throat a little), I realize how many things I want to experience, all the books I want to read, all the friends to spend time with… etc. I can’t wait to see what’s around the next turn.

Tara: Knowing my personality and open-mindedness, what's one question I could've asked that you would've refused to answer?

Peg: I really don’t know how to answer this one. I honestly cannot imagine what I’d refuse to answer. Ask some more questions… maybe I’ll figure it out.

Tara: What made you deem Tara worthy of reading? Come on, we wanna know!

Peg: Wow… I really can’t remember if I followed a link from another blog, or did I do a search? Oh, bother … hate it when that happens! Well, it doesn’t really matter. Once I found your site, there was no leaving! We think alike in so many ways. I think we were separated at birth.

Addiction and Obsession...

Little Obsessions
A psychiatrist was conducting a group therapy session with four young mothers and their small children. "You all have obsessions," he observed.
To the first mother he said, "You are obsessed with eating.
You even named your daughter Candy."
He turned to the second mom. "Your obsession is money.
Again, it manifests itself in your child's name, Penny."
He turned to the third mom. "Your obsession is alcohol and your child's name is Brandy."
At this point, the fourth mother got up, took her little boy by the hand and whispered,
"Come on, Dick, let's go home."

I've always known I did not have an addictive personality, in regards to ingested, imbibed, injected or inhaled substances. As a matter of fact, I have a high tolerance for all of those things. When I had my motorcycle crash in 2000, I remember giving up on the pain killers because they really didn't help much. I do, on occasion, have alcoholic beverages. When I do, I rarely get "high" nor do I overindulge. Pot? Yes, tried it (and DID inhale... heh heh) but it really only gave me the munchies. All in all, I've never had a problem with addiction...

Obsession, on the other hand...

Okay, here's what I mean:
When I leave the house, I frequently re-enter to check to see if I turned electrical things off... locked doors, etc. Obsessive/Compulsive? Maybe.
Reading... I start with one book and I HAVE to read everything that author has done (especially series). And I can't seem to borrow books... I have to OWN them. Weird huh?

And when I get interested in a new hobby, a new project... a new... person... it consumes me.
It occupies my mind 24/7.
What's up with that??
Now, I'm not talking about Stalking... or "fatal attraction", but I do become preoccupied.
Am I sick? Do I have a problem? I'm inclined to say "NO". I'd like to believe that. I've always been pretty normal (whatever THAT means). And, mind you... I've never taken this to an extreme nor have I ever done anything to bother anyone (at least I don't think so). I've certainly never hurt anyone. However, what this does end up doing... it puts my heart in jeopardy. I get so involved, I want to be important, close to the person, NEEDED ... and if they don't feel as... deeply as I do. I'm crushed. I'm hurt.
Oh, I get over it... eventually, I realize they do indeed care for me (perhaps even LOVE me)... they just don't react with the same zeal as I do. And that's okay, it really is... but it takes me a little while to see. I guess I just FEEL too intensely! So... what're ya gonna do?

M. Webster defines them:
Main Entry: ad·dic·tion
Pronunciation: &-'dik-sh&n, a-
Function: noun
1 : the quality or state of being addicted
2 : compulsive need for and use of a habit-forming substance (as heroin, nicotine, or alcohol) characterized by tolerance and by well-defined physiological symptoms upon withdrawal; broadly : persistent compulsive use of a substance known by the user to be harmful

Main Entry: ob·ses·sion
Pronunciation: äb-'se-sh&n, &b-
Function: noun1 : a persistent disturbing preoccupation with an often unreasonable idea or feeling; broadly : compelling motivation
2 : something that causes an obsession- ob·ses·sion·al /-'sesh-n&l, -'se-sh&-n&l/ adjective- ob·ses·sion·al·ly adverb

Do you have an addictive personality?
Take the Quiz.
My quiz results say:
You're in Control. You exhibit commendable self-control — you appear to lack most of the personality traits that can put you at risk for addiction. Continue to make smart choices by staying self-aware during difficult periods in your life, surrounding yourself with loving friends and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Well, that settles it huh? Okay, I'm not worried... much.

Massage...

Oh, last nite was ab. fab!!
I feel... SPENT. The waxing was... intense, but the massage always makes up for it.
If you can arrange it, you must have a pampering day for yourself. Money well spent!!

Function: transitive verb
Inflected Form(s): pam·pered; pam·per·ing /-p(&-)ri[ng]/
Etymology: Middle English, probably of Dutch origin; akin to Flemish
pamperen to pamper
1 archaic : to cram with rich food : GLUT
2 a : to treat with extreme or excessive care and attention
b : GRATIFY, HUMOR synonym

I watched Pay It Forward today, probably for the third or fourth time.

I REALLY like Kevin Spacey! But this movie just makes me ball like a baby at the end!

Another Spacey movie I liked a lot is Kpax. Oh, and Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil!

all hail the northeastern domme

You know, when I first created this blog ... I joined every blog directory I could find. I submitted my url to lots of search engines. Took some time, but I hit most of them.

But nothing has brought traffic to my site like Lady Calliah. She just started her blog (A Kinky Woman's Guide to the Universe) in April.

She describes herself thus: "I am a kinky woman. I am a Domme by nature. Be fair warned. I may post adult stuff. That's not a promise, just a warning."

I can't remember if I left her a comment first or she me... but since then I've gotten so many hits directly from her site it almost makes the directories insignificant.

This is my tribute and thanks to her. If you are so inclined, check out her blog and be prepared to worship.

Jung, Myers-Briggs and me...

Ever taken a personality test? Probably... sometime in your life. Whether it was a Myers-Briggs in the course of your career development or one of those "let's get to know you" emails that show up in your inbox every... oh... couple of HOURS!

Well, perhaps it's the dreary weather today and the boredom that inflicts... but I'm in one of those moods. And it appears my online Posse' (that would my "Gurls" who email-tag each other all day/every day while we're supposed to be working) feels the same.

I took the HUMANMETRICS Jung Typology Test and it tells me that I'm a ESFJ (Extraverted Sensing Feeling Judging personality).

"Guardians of birthdays, holidays and celebrations, ESFJs are generous entertainers. They enjoy and joyfully observe traditions and are liberal in giving, especially where custom prescribes... All else being equal, ESFJs enjoy being in charge.
... ESFJs are easily wounded. And when wounded, their emotions will not be contained. They by nature "wear their hearts on their sleeves," often exuding warmth and bonhomie, but not infrequently boiling over with the vexation of their souls. Some ESFJs channel these vibrant emotions into moving dramatic performances on stage and screen. "

Okay... you got me! Pretty damned close, yep.
However, I don't really identify with the examples of famous ESFJs they list (Bill Clinton... I may hurl!) but some of the fictional ones are cool:

Leonard "Bones" McCoy (Star Trek) - definitely!
Monica (Friends) - I guess
Haleh (ER) - ? (don't watch it enough to agree or disagree)
Donald Duck - this one worries me!
Rabbit, Winnie the Pooh - Yes, I can see that.

If you take the test... be sure to go to TypeLogic to read the discription of your type. And please come back here and let me know how your test went! This stuff is so cool.

AMERICAN GRAFITTI

The weekend, continued...
On top of the great class I had, my Harley Owners Group Chapter had a fun event this past Saturday. We had "Drive-In Nite" at the Harley Shop. We were going to show it on the exterior wall of the dealership, but the wind and threatening clouds drove us inside. We projected the movie on the wall in our Hog Room.

Posted by Hello

It was a fabulous time! We had concessions (the usual Raisenettes, Goobers, Junior Mints, Milk Duds, Whoppers, Hot Tamales, etc.), a trivia contest during Intermission, a really cute usher (w/ flashlight no less). We could sing along with the movie (it WAS American Graffiti after all) without management asking us to leave. The usher was Cute! The theater was filled with close friends. The popcorn was free! What more could you want??

Did I mention the Usher was CUTE?

Safety Weekend

I taught another Motorcycle Safety class this past weekend. Wow, I'd have to say this was the BEST class I've ever taught. Only one student had a motorcycle endorsement on his driver's license. The rest had varying degrees of riding experience from "owns a bike and riding now" (yes, without a license) to "never been on a bike". They all did wonderfully. This is the kind of class you dream about. Everyone (students AND coaches) had a fun time. We even lucked out with the weather. It was calling for rain all weekend and we never got a drop.

We tried out a new range shirt this weekend too (I know you're all just dying to know this). Our company (MSCV inc.) bought us shirts from Sahalie.com. The shirt is great.
It's called the Soltex Shirt (here's the woman's shirt) and it's made with a tightly woven fabric that blocks 95-99% of UVA and UVB rays. It has a large vented back which lets excess heat and humidity escape instantly, a TriFold collar unfolds for added coverage over the back of your neck, then folds down and tucks away when you don't need it. If you have a job (or hobby) that keeps you out in the sun and heat, this is the perfect shirt.
