O MY!

Everyone's heard of this book:
But,
believe it or not, I've never actually read it. I started reading it on my lunch break today. Whew! Hot and heavy from the first paragraph... not something you want to read in public.

Story of O
FROM THE PUBLISHER
The classic erotic novel, STORY OF O relates the love of a beautiful Parisian fashion photographer for Rene. As part of that intense love, she demands debasement and severe sexual and pychological tests. It is a unique work not to be missed.

HOT 'ROD

WoooHooo.... I went and did it! I finally broke down and bought the bike I have been drooling over for years. (bet all my buds are glad... I'm sure they were tired of hearing about it).
Picture is from my phone.... thus the teeny tiny view.

This bike is SWEET!

Local Bloggin'....

Thought I'd mention some local (Richmond) blogs that have cropped up lately.

River City Rapids (they even use the same template as me).
And Another Thing (Richmond Magazine's Blog).

just to name a few. Hell, if you want more, go to:
http://www.wric.com/Global/story.asp?S=3092024 for a list of Richmond Blogs.

*On Slantblog, Rea mentions VCU's Special Postcard Collection,
"Rarely Seen Richmond."
This is certainly worth your time, especially if you have an interest in Richmond, VA history.

OLD CITY HALL, if you saw The Murder of Mary Phagan, you've seen this building:

Ring ding didle e eye eye de oh

Don't you just love a man in a kilt?

I'm with Ragdoll on this one! I think it's just downright SEXY!

I met a young man (young... 11 yrs my junior to be exact) at Element Lounge Monday nite and he was in a black kilt and killer boots. Yep, Sexy! Real Sexy!

Each October, you can find me at the Richmond Highland Games & Celtic Festival and it ain't just to drink Ale and listen to bagpipes!

Oooooh, suddenly I'm daydreaming of Kirk McLeod (Seven Nations) in a kilt..... yummmmm!

THE SCOTSMAN

  • A Scottsman clad in kilts, left a bar one evening fair
  • One could tell by how he walked, he'd drunk more than his share
  • He staggered on until he could no longer keep his feet
  • Then he stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street

Chorus: Ring ding didle e eye eye de oh, Oh Ring die diddle eye oh...

stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street ......

  • Later on two young and lovely girls just happened by
  • One said to the other with a twinkle in her eye
  • Oh see young sleeping Scotsman, so young and handsome built
  • I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath their kilts

Chorus: Ring ding didle e eye eye de oh, Oh Ring die diddle eye oh...

wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath their kilts

  • They stepped up to that Scotsman, so young and fancy free
  • They lifted up his kilt above the waist so they could see
  • And there, behold, for them to view, beneath his Scottish skirt
  • Twas nothing more than God had blessed him with upon his birth.

Chorus: Ring ding didle e eye eye de oh, Oh Ring die diddle eye oh...

nothing more than God had blessed him with upon his birth

  • They marveled for a moment, then one said "Let's be gone."
  • Let's leave a present for our friend before we move along
  • As a gift they left a blue ribbon, tied into a bow
  • Around the bonny star that Scott's kilt lifting showed.

Chorus: Ring ding didle e eye eye de oh, Oh Ring die diddle eye oh...

'round the bonny star that Scott's kilt lifting showed

  • The Scott awoke to nature's call and stumbled to the trees,
  • Behind a bush he lift's his kilt, and gawks at what he sees
  • Then in a startled voice he says to what's before his eyes.
  • Ach Lad, I dinna know where you been, but I see you won 1st prize.

Chorus: Ring ding didle e eye eye de oh, Oh Ring die diddle eye oh...

dinna know where you been, but I see you won 1st prize.

Thank you for NOT honking...

On my motorcycle and on my way home. It was vibrating madly between my legs as I waited at the stoplight...
I was vibrating from my experiences the night before. Thinking of the hours, the joy... I closed my eyes and left the here and now.
Reality rudely returns as I realize the light has changed...

Thank you for my gift!

Anne Rice quote...

Found a good quote in Merrick by Anne Rice.

As David thinks to himself about his old friend Aaron Lightner, "Why does shame and self-loathing become cruelty to the innocent? How is that so often the case?"

Wow, does THAT sound like someone I know?!?! HINT: click here.

What I'm reading...

One of the few Anne Rice novels that I haven't read already:

I guess I'm taking a little break from Dean Koontz.

Actually, I finished the last one at lunch and didn't have the next Koontz book with me. Merrick was in the truck, so I started reading it.

See, I TOLD you...

This is one of those "pass it on or else" emails... but it sounds like a true public service announcement to me...

1. Sex is a beauty treatment. Scientific tests find that when women make love they produce amounts of the hormone estrogen, which makes hair shine and skin smooth.
2. Gentle, relaxed lovemaking reduces your chances of suffering dermatitis, skin rashes and blemishes. The sweat produced cleanses the pores and makes your skin glow.
3. Lovemaking can burn up those calories you piled on during that romantic dinner
4. Sex is one of the safest sports you can take up. It stretches and tones up just about every muscle in the body. It's more enjoyable than swimming 20 laps, and you don't need special sneakers!
5. Sex is an instant cure for mild depression. It releases endorphins into the bloodstream, producing a sense of euphoria and leaving you with a feeling of well-being.
6. The more sex you have, the more you will be offered. The sexually active body gives off greater quantities of chemicals called pheromones. These subtle sex perfumes drive the opposite sex crazy!
7 . Sex is the safest tranquilizer in the world. IT IS 10 TIMES MORE EFFECTIVE THAN VALIUM.
8. Kissing each day will keep the dentist away. Kissing encourages saliva to wash food from the teeth and lowers the level of the acid that causes decay, preventing plaque build-up.
9. Sex actually relieves headaches. A lovemaking session can release the tension that restricts blood vessels in the brain.
10. A lot of lovemaking can unblock a stuffy nose. Sex is a natural antihistamine. It can help combat asthma and hay fever.

AND OF COURSE, THE REQUISITE "OR ELSE" MESSAGE AT THE END:
This message has been sent to you for good luck in sex. The original is in a room in the basement of the Dwight House Pub. It has been sent around the world nine times. Now sex has been sent to you. The "Hot Sex Fairy" will visit you within four days of receiving this message, provided you, in turn, send it on.If you don't, then you will never receive good sex again for the rest of your life. You will eventually become celibate, and your genitals will rot and fall off. This is no joke! Send copies to people you think need sex (who doesn't?). Don't send money, as the fate of your genitals has no price.

Life's just full of ups and downs...

Well, well... I've been kinda lazy with the blogging.
I've had some ups and some downs lately.
In the Downs Category... someone I was counting on really let me down. While this is disappointing, it's not really unexpected. To tell you the truth, there are a lot of people that could say "I told you so"... some have (T)... some just gave me "the look". You know the one, the "you REALLY should have known, I knew... why didn't you know?" look.

BUT in the Ups Category, I have a place to live. I'm hanging with G. She has graciously allowed me to move in, albeit temporarily. This will give me some time to find a place I like, whether it's a rental or a small house to buy. Now my mileage to work is lessened and I don't have to eat out every night... so I should be able to save a little bit of green. I know, T... you told me to do this long ago. You know it all, mommy! (or YOU ARE A KNOW IT ALL... one or the other).

have I been remiss?
too busy or too caught up

Blog review...

I just thought I'd mention a cool blog I found.

Jim's pretty cool, his blog has a myriad of diverse subjects (I like that in a blog). He blogs about food (good recipes) and debunks ads, schemes, offers etc. He also seems to be an avid cyclist (if you're into that sort of thing).

And thanks to Jim's blog, I found another interesting site... cockeyed.com.
Read The Torn Up Credit Card Application. Makes you think!
Oh, and the Mustard article is fun.

oh, give me a home...

I'm house sitting this week for "G"... a.k.a. "the smoldering ember". She's gone gambling. I've been told (by T) that I should just do this all the time... house sit that is. I told her I still need a base of operations.
I REALLY need to find myself a home.

I thought I had it covered... thought I had a place and a roommate. Alas, seems it's not to be.

Then I thought maybe... just maybe, I could get away with rooming with a friend of mine that's on his way to a break-up. But even being a purely platonic relationship... I guess that would cause all sorts of hoopla.

I guess I'm on my own.

I've been thinking about a place in the city. Me? In the city? Hmmm. But the price includes EVERTHING... electricity, cable, broadband, water, etc. And it's a COOL old building that they renovated and turned into apartments. Oh, I just don't know. I guess there's no REAL rush... but I'm spending oodles of money on gasoline driving from B.F.E. and back.

Somebody, help me decide!!!!!!!!

Where does the %#@* comma go anyway?

I'm also reading this right now and it is hilarious!

This quote from the book had me rolling in the floor:
"'Guess with whom I have a date Saturday Night'? People who talk like this, you and I well know, can't get a date at all. Ever. Most of them must make do with fuzzy memories of a middle school English teacher or with a surreptitiously acquired snapshot of the local librarian."

And did you know The Simpsons is the most grammatically and linguistically savvy show on television? It is, according to the author.

Oh, you're going to love the story about the panda that goes to Niagara Falls.

The answer to the title question? Where does the %#@* comma go anyway? Casagrande says, "Good News: No one knows how to use these things."

I Googled "The Simpsons" and "Grammar" and I found this blog:
HeiDeas Linguistics, science, books, movies, cartoons, what haveyou.
Pretty cool stuff.

Currently reading....

Library Journal
In a small California town, Molly and Neil Sloan wake in the night to find the world experiencing the communication breakdown and extreme weather phenomena that will presage an extraterrestrial annexation of Earth. Along with the assistance of some intelligent and intuitive dogs (a Koontz trademark), Molly and Neil try to save as many children as they can from being "taken" or killed outright. In The Taking, Koontz continues his ongoing exploration of the capacity of human nature for hope, goodness, and innocence in the face of evil.

The last one I read, By The Light of the Moon, was one of the best books I've read in a very long time. I hope this one is half as good.

I think she needs a blog... don't you?

She said, "would you post this on your blog"?
For posterity? Sure!
My dear readers will get to know her... and I will know her a little bit more.

love shouldn't be a weapon or a device or a weight.
it's beauty is that it be a gift, with no strings attached to it.
for she doesn't love you
because she attaches a weight and expects things in return.
you do not love her ~ for if you did ~ you would not be calling me and dreaming of me at night alone in your bed.
how could you belong to someone else when i haven't had a chance?
i have lost you forever.

in good faith...

Do you know how many songs are called "Honesty"?
Or have the word in their titles??

Well, me neither... but it sure seems like there are an awful lot of them.

Billy Joel's "Honesty"... Rodney Atkins, Alex Parks, Sevendust, Wakefield, Rosie Gaines, Youth of Today, Britney.
Elton John's "Sweet Honesty", Urge Overkill's "Honesty Flies", Thin Lizzy "Honesty Is No Excuse", Madonna's "Your Honesty", Unni Wilhelmsen's "Everyone's Honesty", LeAnn Rimes - "Sweet Honesty", Bananarama: Love Truth And Honesty, Billy Talent: Try Honesty... just to name a few.
THEN there is the word HONEST:
Honest by Kendall Payne, Verve Pipe, Bob Dylan's Honest With Me,
Daniel Bedingfield's Honest Questions, K-CI & JOJO: Honest Lover, The Rolling Stones: Honest I Do, Almost Honest by Josh Kelley, Bic Runga: Honest Goodbyes, Hard Times For An Honest Man by John Mellencamp.

Obviously, I'm not the only person wishing for a little honesty!

what reason to lie?
can hurting me be your fear?
honesty's the thing

Happy bloggin' anniversary to me!

I just realized today (3 weeks late) that I began blogging a year ago! Woohoo!
5669 hits later... here I am. That's not a record, I know... but I'm happy with it.

And I've met lots of cool friends... like Lady Calliah who has taught me about Dommes, Tara who has inspired me to write more, Gabby who has taught me about Subs, Lorena who has inspired me to take more photos, Zubegirl who cracks me up!

And of course, Toby... the one who started me down the blogging road!

... and my skinny jeans.

She said, "I think that I am sad, down, happy, depressed, confident all rolled into one. How can I be all of those things?"
She said, "I miss warm weather, the way things use to be and my skinny jeans."
She said, "I'm scared of being alone, living in poverty, what people say about me as a person, and that he will hate me."
She said, "I look forward to the day I can sleep in, a night where I can sleep peacefully and all
night without the assistance of drugs, I look forward to a vacation.
She said, "I need help"

I said, "We ALL feel those things. I feel those things... and at the same time too."
I said, "I despise the cold, it's depressing."
I said, "I miss MY bed. And I miss my skinny jeans too! Winter sucks!"
I said, "While I'm not afraid of being alone... I AM afraid of other things... Poverty? yeah, a little... What people say? NO WAY... I know what you think about me. I know what my true friends think about me... no one else matters."
I said, "You know, I don't think 'he' is capable of hating you or anyone else. Hatred requires passion."

I said, "Just maybe, when we get our acts together... maybe we will breathe the air of peace.
If anyone doesn't like the way we live, they can just stay the hell away."
I said, "You will never be alone. I promise you that. All you gotta do is grab hold
."

We WILL survive!

I love you.

Joy Machine... Yes, YES..... THAT'S IT!!!

Why We Ride....
A motorcycle is not just a two-wheeled car; the difference between driving a car and climbing onto a motorcycle is the difference between watching TV and actually living your life. We spend all our time sealed in boxes and cars are just the rolling boxes that shuffle us from home-box to work-box to store-box and back, the whole time, entombed in stale air, temperature regulated, sound insulated, and smelling of carpets.

On a motorcycle I know I'm alive. When I ride, even the familiar seems strange and glorious. The air has weight and substance as I push through it and its touch is as intimate as water to a swimmer. I feel the cool wells of air that pool under trees and the warm spokes of that fall through them. I can see everything in a sweeping 360 degrees, up, down and around, wider than Pana-Vision and than IMAX and unrestricted by ceiling or dashboard. Sometimes I even hear music. It's like hearing phantom telephones in the shower or false doorbells when vacuuming; the pattern-loving brain, seeking signals in the noise, raises acoustic ghosts out of the wind's roar.
But on a motorcycle I hear whole songs: rock 'n roll, dark orchestras, women's voices, all hidden in the air and released by speed.
At 30 miles per hour and up, smells become uncannily vivid. All the individual tree- smells and flower- smells and grass-smells flit by like chemical notes in a great plant symphony.
Sometimes the smells evoke memories so strongly that it's as though the past hangs invisible in the air around me, wanting only the most casual of rumbling time machines to unlock it. A ride on a summer afternoon can border on the rapturous. The sheer volume and variety of stimuli is like a bath for my nervous system, an electrical massage for my brain, a systems check for my soul. It tears smiles out of me: a minute ago I was dour, depressed, apathetic, numb, but now, on two wheels, big, ragged, windy smiles flap against the side of my face, billowing out of me like air from a decompressing plane.

Transportation is only a secondary function. A motorcycle is a joy machine. It's a machine of wonders, a metal bird, a motorized prosthetic. It's light and dark and shiny and dirty and warm and cold lapping over each other; it's a conduit of grace, it's a catalyst for bonding the gritty and the holy.

Cars lie to us and tell us we're safe, powerful, and in control. The air-conditioning fans murmur empty assurances and whisper, "Sleep, sleep." Motorcycles tell us a more useful truth: we are small and exposed, and probably moving too fast for our own good, but that's no reason not to enjoy every minute of the ride.

Koontz again...

Currently, I'm reading:

Yes, once again, I'm on an "author spree". Reading everything I can by Dean Koontz.

By the Light of the Moon

FROM THE PUBLISHER
"Dylan O'Conner is a gifted young artist just trying to do the right thing in life. He's on his way to an arts festival in Santa Fe when he stops to get a room for himself and his twenty-year-old autistic brother, Shep. But in a nightmarish instant, Dylan is attacked by a mysterious "doctor," injected with a strange substance, and told that he is now a carrier of something that will either kill him...or transform his life in the most remarkable way. Then he is told that he must flee - before the doctor's enemies hunt him down for the secret circulating through his body. No one can help him, the doctor says, not even the police." "Stunned, disbelieving, Dylan is turned loose to run for his life...and straight into an adventure that will turn the next twenty-four hours into an odyssey of terror, mystery - and wondrous discovery." "It is a journey that begins when Dylan and Shep's path intersects with that of Jillian Jackson. Before that evening Jilly was a beautiful comedian whose biggest worry was whether she would ever find a decent man. Now she too is a carrier. And even as Dylan tries to convince her that they'll be safer sticking together, cold-eyed men in a threatening pack of black Suburbans approach, only seconds before Jilly's classic Coupe DeVille explodes into thin air." Now the three are on the run together, but with no idea whom they're running from - or why. Meanwhile Shep has begun exhibiting increasingly disturbing behavior. And whatever it is that's coursing through their bodies seems to have plunged them into one waking nightmare after another. Seized by sinister premonitions, they find themselves inexplicably drawn to crime scenes - just minutes before the crimes take place.

Frankenstein...

My current reading material:

FROM THE PUBLISHER
From the celebrated imagination of Dean Koontz comes a powerful reworking of one of the classic stories of all time. If you think you know the legend, you know only half the truth. Here is the mystery, the myth, the terror, and the magic of...

Dean Koontz's Frankentein: City of Night

It's the sequel to Frankenstein: Prodigal Son

Every city has secrets. But none as terrible as this. His name is Deucalion, a tattooed man of mysterious origin, a sleight-of-reality artist who’s traveled the centuries with a secret worse than death. He arrives as a serial killer stalks the streets, a killer who carefully selects his victims for the humanity that is missing in himself. Detective Carson O’Connor is cool, cynical, and every bit as tough as she looks. Her partner Michael Maddison would back her up all the way to Hell itself–and that just may be where this case ends up. For the no-nonsense O’Connor is suddenly talking about an ages-old conspiracy, a near immortal race of beings, and killers that are more–and less–than human. Soon it will be clear that as crazy as she sounds, the truth is even more ominous. For their quarry isn’t merely a homicidal maniac–but his deranged maker.

hello? Is this thing on???

alive and NOT well....

Thanks for asking though.

Just wanted to let you all know that I'm down with the flu.
Yup, that's right, the Honest-to-God Influenza.
The "swab your nasal passages and test it for...
YUP you got the flu alright. That's kinda neat, I don't get to see that too often."
"Gee thanks, Doc. I can really feel the love"
"Oh, I didn't mean I'm glad you've got the flu.... it's just..."
"Yeah, Right... whatever..."

So he gave me some meds and sent me home (you know... B.F.E. ... the land of NO WIFI! Gasp). I have a temporary reprieve in civilization to pick up a few things (not including my sanity, of course). So here I am. Mind you, I'm closing this laptop up right now and heading back to my bed... 'cause I feel like crap.

walkin' in a winter wonderland...

It started snowing here early this morning. Wasn't supposed to start until around noon, but what do meterologists know? The temperature has remained warm enough to keep the roads decent. But I imagine things will be pretty messy in the morning... think I'll stay in.

I hate to drive in the snow but I love watching it come down... from inside a warm, comfy house.

the "camel toe" phenomenon...

NO, this post is not designed to boost blog hits! Although, I am eager to see how it goes over.

What IS a camel toe? You may ask.
The Urban Dictionary has many colorful definitions. One of my favorites is:
"When her pants are so tight you can read her lips!"
Woohoo.... now there's a visual image!

I've never liked this particular physical attribute (at least, not MINE). But I've been told that a lot of people find it very appealing. Hmm, no accounting for taste I guess.
I must admit that I've seen some examples that I found intriguing. The Camel Toe Report site has some interesting entries. They even rate the entries on a scale... Toe Factor 1 - 10.
AND... there are some Camel Toe Haiku on the site. YES!

Yes, there ARE male camel toes... but believe me, they are NOT pretty.

Hmmm, I wonder...
Could this be what the Black Eyed Peas were REALLY talking about??

What you gonna do with all that junk? All that junk inside your trunk?
I'ma get, get, get, get you drunk, Get you love drunk off my hump.
My hump, my hump, my hump, my hump, my hump,
My hump, my hump,my hump, my lovely little lumps.
oh yahe I drive these brothas crazy i do it on the daily
they treat me really nicely they buy me all these ice-ys.
Dolce and Gabbana, Fendi and then Donna Karen, they be sharing all the money, got me wearing fly brother i aint askin, They say they love my ass 'n,
Seven Jeans, True Religion,
I say no, but they keep givin'
So I keep on takin'
And no I ain't takin'
We can keep on datin'
and I keep on demonstratin.

My love, my love, my love, my love
You love my lady lumps,
My hump, my hump, my hump,
My humps they got you,

She's got me spending.
(Oh) Spendin' all your money on me and spending time on me.
She's got me spendin'.
(Oh) Spendin' all your money on me, up on me, on me

I think Lil' Kim presents us with the quintessential example of Camel Toe.

Thank you Kim!!

"no good deed...

...goes unpunished" - Clare Booth Luce

That's what "the Scholar" said about this past weekend. He and I and Robbie ("the Saint") volunteered to teach a special Basic Rider Course for our employer (MSCV). It seems some of our friends were interested in becoming RiderCoaches (like us) and they needed to take the BRC first. We volunteered to teach them. Turns out most of them had prior commitments and had to back out. The company sold the other seats to "flesh" out the class. And of course Fwed wanted to pay us (nice thought actually). So we ended up teaching a whole class so we had to be there all day and the weather wasn't ideal. Well, hell... it IS February in Virginia.

Saturday was WET. I mean it POURED on us, but it was reasonably warm so, all in all, not too bad. But yesterday was cold! Not just cold... Fuckin' Cold!

We finished after sundown in the cold, feet hurtin', exhausted...
You know, I'm glad it's over... but I'm glad we did it! The students had a good time, we've gotten one class under our belts for the season and I got to spend the weekend with 3 of my favorite people in the whole world: "Scholar", "the Saint" and "Fwed".
I'd say that was time well spent!

There was a man in our town who had King Midas’ touch;
He gave away his millions to the colleges and such;
And people cried: “The hypocrite! He ought to understand
The ones who really need him are the children of this land!”

When Andrew Croesus built a home for children who were sick,
The people said they rather thought he did it as a trick,
And writers said: “He thinks about the drooping girls and boys,
But what about conditions with the men whom he employs?”

There was a man in our town who said that he would share
His profits with his laborers, for that was only fair,
And people said: “Oh, isn’t he the shrewd and foxy gent?
It cost him next to nothing for that free advértisement!”

There was a man in our town who had the perfect plan
To do away with poverty and other ills of man,
But he feared the public jeering, and the folks who would defame him,
So he never told the plan he had, and I can hardly blame him.

at peace : in a state of concord or tranquillity

I was talking with a friend last week and I told him I was in such a wonderful mood and I had been all week. He asked me why and I said I really didn't know.
The next day at work it hit me like the proverbial ton of bricks... the way I've been feeling... it's happiness! This is what it feels like to be HAPPY. Whew... glad we cleared THAT up.

I finally feel at peace... with myself, with my decisions of late. I have a sense of calm that is truly beautiful. Tiny things are a joy. The sunshine today fills me with such warmth and pleasure. I simply sat in my truck at lunchtime and just soaked it up. I was talking with T on the phone while we were both playing a fun (yet brainless) online game and we were just giggling... like kids.

I was telling Fwed yesterday about the way I've been feeling. He said that it shows! Hmmm, I guess it IS pretty obvious.

earth, wind & fire... oh, and water

I found a great local bar. Well... I had some help.
My favorite K.J. (Karaoke Jockey) Amanda just got a new gig at Element Lounge in Richmond.

What a fabulous place! Great decor, great bartenders (Doug and Frankie... You guys rock!), and a STOCKED bar. And I mean stocked, people.

It was Amanda's first nite there so it was a pretty small crowd... but it was a blast. By the end of the evening, everyone in the place was singing with each other, lots of duet combinations!

(James, Chris, Christopher, Katy and the rest of the GANG... you guys were so much fun! Hope we see you there again.)

I'm hoping our Harley Owners Group Chapter can have some functions at Element.
The biker philosophy is basically "Ride and Eat".
Oh and they don't seem to mind "adult beverages" either.

If you're ever in Richmond, Virginia check out Element Lounge...

he said, she said...

And just what the hell did he mean "I do love you, just not the way you love me"? What the fuck did that mean? She never wanted him to love her in any way other than His Way. She never asked anything of him really. She never asked him to leave... She's not sure she'd even want him to.

Did she want things the way they were? Yes!
Did she want time alone with him? You betcha!
Did she want him to want her??? Absolutely!
But did she want him... or anyone... 24/7? No. No way!

She never expected anything from him. How COULD she? But what did make her crazy was that he invited her into his life... into his lifestyle. Then he all but ignored her!
That Bites!

do you think that was the plan?

I was in Williamsburg yesterday with T. As we drove through town, we rode by a motel that I'd stayed at years ago.
Just in passing, I said "I've stayed there... their pool is shaped like a condom" She just stared at me. Well, as much as she could and still see where she was driving. "No kidding... it's shaped just like a condom. Like this..."

fwed...

This is my buddy FWED. When he's in his jogging get-up, I call him "Big Bird." It's for "Visibility" he says.
He loves jogging and you won't catch him eating any fat if he can help it. But he loves his candy, bubble gum, diet pepsi and 12 or so cups of coffee a day.

Go figure.

I'm listening to...

My life is brilliant.

My life is brilliant.
My love is pure.
I saw an angel.
Of that I'm sure.
She smiled at me on the subway.
She was with another man.
But I won't lose no sleep on that,
'Cause I've got a plan.

You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw your face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,
'Cause I'll never be with you.

Yeah, she caught my eye,
As we walked on by.
She could see from my face that I was,
Flying high,
And I don't think that I'll see her again,
But we shared a moment that will last till the end.

You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw your face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,
'Cause I'll never be with you.

You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
There must be an angel with a smile on her face,
When she thought up that I should be with you.
But it's time to face the truth,
I will never be with you.

-the words and his voice! For some reason, this song touches me. The video is pretty strange though... almost disturbing.

Current reading material...

I've just started reading:

FROM THE PUBLISHER
Now freelancing from south Florida, Dr. Kay Scarpetta returns to Richmond, Virginia, the city that turned its back on her five years ago. Investigating the death of a young girl, she must follow the twisting leads and track the strange details in order to make the dead speak-and to reveal the sad truth that may be more than even she can bear.

And I'm also reading this:

The Creative License: Giving Yourself Permission to Be the Artist You Truly Are

by Danny Gregory

Book Description: When Danny Gregory's life was turned upside down by tragedy, he learned to cope by teaching himself to draw. The result was a complete transformation of his life, his priorities, his career, and the way he saw the world. In handwritten chapters full of his lush watercolor illustrations, Danny now offers readers a program for reconnecting to their own creative energies, using drawing as an example. He gently instructs us in the art of allowing ourselves to fail, giving up the expectation of perfection and opening our eyes to the beauty around us. The result is the permission to express ourselves fully and take part in the creative process without fear. Artist or not, readers of all stripes will find inspiration in this unique and beautiful book.
